【摘要】:1.1Thepurposeofthisdocumentistoassistpotentialusersinunderstandingtheissuesrelatedtotheaccuracyofnon-contactingstrainmeasurementsystemsandtoprovideacommonframeworkforquantitativecomparisonofopticalsystems.Theoutputfromanon-contactingopticalstrainanddeformationmeasurementsystemisgenerallydividedintoopticaldataandimageanalysisdata.Opticaldatacontainsinformationrelatedtospecimenstrainsandtheimageanalysisprocessconvertstheencodedopticalinformationintostraindata.Theencloseddocumentdescribespotentialsourcesoferrorinthestraindataanddescribesgeneralmethodsforquantifyingtheerrorandestimatingtheaccuracyofthemeasurementswhenapplyingnon-contactingmethodstothestudyofeventsforwhichtheopticalintegrationtimeismuchsmallerthantheinverseofthemaximumtemporalfrequencyintheencodeddata(thatis,eventsthatcanberegardedasstaticduringtheintegrationtime).Abriefapplicationoftheapproach,alongwithspecificexamplesdefiningthevariousterms,isgivenintheAppendix.
